Dear Prospective Student:
The Information Systems department at the Forest Park Campus offers a Certificate of Proficiency in Medical Billing and Coding. The program consists of 45 credit hours. There are no program enrollment requirements other than meeting the general Admission requirements of the Community College and the prerequisites of the required courses.

If you are interested in taking the coding classes only, you must have the prerequisites of Medical Terminology and Human Body Systems (prerequisite to Human Body Systems is Bio 111 Introductory Biology) before entry into Diagnosis Coding Systems I and Procedure Coding Systems I. If you have previously taken Anatomy and Physiology I and Anatomy and Physiology II, it is not necessary to take Human Body Systems but you must contact the department for an override.
